The seminar on the topic: “Successful WTO accession strategy for Uzbekistan” was held at CGC.

To explore key aspects to a successful WTO accession strategy for Uzbekistan, there was held the seminar on the topic: “Successful WTO accession strategy for Uzbekistan” at CGC on 24th, January.

The organizers of the seminar were the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), the Ministry of Foreign Trade of Uzbekistan, and the Scientific-Educational Center of Corporate Governance.

Over 50 representatives of the ministries, agencies and business circles of the Republic
of Uzbekistan, members of the WTO Accession Working Group, business associations, and representatives of CGC gathered at the workshop.

Within the framework of the seminar, participants discussed WTO accession strategies, case studies based on experiences of other countries, recommendations for the case of Uzbekistan with key steps towards WTO and win-win accession strategy, and facing post-accession challenges.

USAID’s program of Competitiveness, Trade, and Jobs Activity in Central Asia facilitates exports and employment in horticulture, strengthen transport and logistics services, and tourism across Central Asian economies.
